Why you Should Embrace the Moody Holiday Decor Trend this Year

As we are approaching Christmas, holiday decors are flourishing everywhere on the internet. And there is a trend that particularly caught my eye: moody holiday decor.

In general, it’s good form that the lighter your interior is the better. Beige, white, light grey are colors that will always be a safe bet. But Since a few years, this started to shift. Decor magazines, great interior designers experimented with moodier decors. Forest green wall, darker furniture, unvarnished materials are a few trends we’ve all noticed. And it works so well. These kinds of decors, create a really cozy ambiance that makes it prone to sharing good times. Definitely, the perfect trend to adopt for an outstanding holiday decor this year.

Let there be fire

In winter, sunlight is rather a rare thing in the northern hemisphere. So instead of fighting it, why shouldn’t we embrace it? It could sound a little depressing at first, but there is plenty of ways to warm things up. Candles, chimney fires or even fake stoves can bring this coziness that makes a house/flat homie. Scandinavian people are true masters at this dark decor thing not for no reasons. When you have 5 or 6 hours of daylight per day 4 to 5 months a year, you get creative and make it a strength. It’s also not a coincidence that the majority of the pictures below comes from Nordic blog or brands.
